Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Cluanie Inn receives accolades for its traditional charm and a cozy ambiance that envelops guests upon arrival. Its prime location is regularly celebrated for offering easy access to outdoor pursuits, although its seclusion has been noted. Patrons commend the inn's cleanliness and the convivial service provided by the staff, who are often highlighted for their extra efforts. While the rooms are praised for comfort and cleanliness, some guests report noise and plumbing issues. Despite the range of amenities, including a pet-friendly policy and a well-regarded bar, the pricing structure comes under scrutiny, with visitors questioning the value for the cost of services and dining.

Stopped for a meal on our journey. Lovely surroundings, lovely food and super friendly staff. Tastefully decorated. Lovely little find. Recommend anyone stays here on the way to skye. Beautiful place. Good selection of food on the menu at a reasonable price

I have seen some cruel reviews for this hotel. It is in the middle of nowhere. And every thing brought from distance ( did you guys know even the electricity is diesel generators) This hotel punches above its weight, the little extras in the room are nice. The food the service and staff is just lovely. Well done Cluanie inn.

Stopped for lunch, wish we hadn’t! The soup was tasteless and Luke warm. The toasty was cold in the middle. The staff tried to be friendly. We were expecting a traditional Scottish offering and was certainly not. It was a total wast of money.😤

£30 for what seemed like a dry frozen pie and smash. It was supposed to be a venison pie mash and salad. Hmmm! Oh and i had a pot of tea which didin't last the 35 minute wait for the food. The place was empty. Shame because it's in a lovely area.

The hotel itself is in an absolutely beautiful and remote area. The landscape around is gorgeous and full of wildlife. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning walk to see the sunrise over the mountains and the stags that were just outside our window. The dinner and breakfast options were great. The venison was good and so was the tandoori pizza. The room itself was fine, although we got basically no sleep. The walls are paper thin and you will be able hear every footstep in the hall as well your neighbor snoring. Even earplugs did not block the noise through the walls. If you can put up with the lack of sleep, I would recommend a night or two here!

We stayed for 3 nights, using it as a base for hill-walking and sightseeing in the area. Everything about our stay was positive - location, room, amenities, cleanliness, staff, service and food. We were made to feel very welcome. The breakfasts and dinners were very good, with a wide selection to choose from for our 3 days. We'll definitely be back. Thank you!

nice place and good staff, but food was really bad. The worst fish n chips I’ve ever eaten in my life. It was also the most expensive fish n chips at £22! If they can get decent food then they would easily get 5 stars but because it’s so bad I would not recommend this place.

Ruined. One of the Highland’s most iconic mountain pubs has had its innards ripped out, it’s character destroyed. For 30yrs I & friends came off the hill to find shelter, beer & food - I won’t again

Thanks for the review - We are sorry but not sure how do we address your concern. Not too sure what makes you say its an Indian restaurant when our interiors are traditional Scottish and the food menu has possibly all the Scottish varieties including some International specials as well and all this is served with a smile by our lovely team !

Can't recommend this place enough. I am a frecuent traveler to the Scottish Highlands, and I would rank this hotel among my personal top 3. The year before, we had stayed at the Whispering Pine Lodge (I must leave a review on this one as well 💙), also managed by Black Sheep Hotels, and when I found out this place was of the same owners, I didn't think twice about choosing this one. The hotel is located in such a beautiful place, Glen Moriston. When we first arrived, there were plenty of deer eating grass just next to the hotel. The gentleman at the reception desk recommended us the Stag Spotting walking trail, which was absolutely amazing (not only for the deer, there were truly plenty of them, but also because of the amazing views of the Glen). The room particularly big, but it was clean, well decorated, and with a taste of the highlands (I do love the Brodies hot chocolate they usually leave at the room). The food at the restaurant was delicious. All I can say, is that I am looking forward to my next trip to Scotland, and hopefully book a stay at the third hotel on the list, managed by Black Sheep (although I would absolutely love to come back to the Cluanie Inn)
