It’s fine. Prime location. Food and beer were good. Staff seemed pretty unimpressed with my Midwestern self…which is probably fair. Still if you are pressed for time and you want a decent pub experience this is a swell experience. Could do worse. Probably do better…at...least that’s what our tour director said.More

This is the first time I've felt the need to write a review. Today I had fish and chips, the fish was awful. Tasted like it had been dredged from the Thames and for 18.95 was grossly overpriced for the standard expected. The ladies room...was disgusting and would have been a playground for environmental health. I will never visit this place again.More

Lovely little tavern, food is great, loads of beer and ale on tap - excellent choice. Staff are very friendly. outside seating with a fantastic view of the Big Ben tower and the surrounding architecture. I would happily revisit. The only small problem is the...state of the toilets - the mens werent fantastic but my wife informed me that the ladies toilets were awful. They are in desperate need of refurbishment. BUT ... do not let this detract you from visiting this lovely little place.More

I have never written a bad review about a restaurant before but this was probably the worst meal i have ever eaten. The first pub we stopped off in after landing in london, absolutely starving so we all ordered the chicken wings and 2 portions...of chips. The chicken wings looked and tasted absolutely disgusting. they looked like they were straight out of the freezer and weren’t even cooked properly. Barely any sauce and the BBQ sauce tasted vile. Would not recommend this place at all as you are paying crazy prices for disgusting foodMore

After a day walking around London and then cruising the River Thames, it was nice to get out of the cold and have a meal and drink at a pub. The fish and chips were delicious and well cooked. The only issue I had was...the ladies room could have been cleaner.More

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Fish and chips was the special and we were not disappointed. Large portions and the fish was cooked perfectly. Very sweet flavor. Nice fries. Tiny place. A bit crowded for me. Fair price for London.

Such a great tavern tucked away in the corner across from Parliament. Fish & chips are the best in London. Reasonably priced. Four Sundays in a row went there for pot roast Sunday!!! Excellent food, good selection of beer and about any alcoholic drink you...can think of. Highly recommend!More

Awsome fish and chips, perfect ale. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to fish and chips so a big well done to the kitchen staff here. Both the fish and the chips were cooked perfectly. I live in Dorset so was happy to find my...local brew in London. The ale was well kept and had travelled well up from the south coast. Well done again to the cellarman. If your a tourist wanting to try the English tradition of fish and chips with a pint of real ale, then this is the place to come. And it's right outside the Houses of Parliament!More

After the War Rooms we had to visit Churchill’s fave pub. It was worth waiting for a table. The food was good but the atmosphere was really what made the experience! Really recommend checking this place out. You may have to wait but it’s absolutely...worth it!More

I’m torn. This was our first stop in London to get a bite to eat while waiting for our hotel room to be ready. Of course, we were drawn in by the smell of fish and chips wafting from the doorway. They were crowded, but...we were given a two-top next to the dumb waiter. No bid deal. We ordered one meal to split and it came out fast. The serving size was huge and the food was delicious, HOWEVER, what I did not expect was to glance down and find a mouse crawl across my foot! My reaction caused a mass panic and someone came and swept the mouse into a bin. Problem solved…until 3 minutes later and there was another one just sashaying through the dining room. The staff seemed incredibly non-plussed by the whole affair and the mice seemed completely at home judging by its casual stroll around. I am unsure as to whether we would ever go back, (probably not) but having this story be our first ever in London, was kind of funny even as others are completely grossed out.More

We stopped by this tavern for lunch after visiting Westminster Abbey. The place was packed, probably due to it's proximity to the church. It was a tight fit to get to the bar to order a drink while we waited for a table. Took about...45 minutes to be seated which isn't too bad. We ordered the fish and chips which were great! Just be patient if you want to try out this tavern.More

Do not go there for a Sunday Roast. It is extremely overpriced and the meat is so tough that you can’t cut it. Gravy was full of pepper. Staff are rude and on asking to use the disabled toilet due to so many stairs, was...told to “get down there” and was pointed down stairs. There’s got to be better pubs in London.More

We were happy to find this charming old pub right by the Palace of Westminster late on a Friday afternoon. There was no wait to get a seat but it was confusing when we first stepped in. There was no greeter and there are multiple...levels and rooms. We finally made our way up a steep staircase where the very cozy dining room seemed to be. We were shown to a tiny table for the four of us but we squeezed in. The food was quite good - beer battered fish and chips, beer battered fish burger, and a chicken and bacon salad. We liked the idea that Churchill used to frequent the place and that the original divisional bell to summon the MP's is housed there.More
