The staff were very gracious in seating me without a reservation. And they were attentive throughout my meal. The food was excellent and worthy of their inclusion in the Michelin guide. I did a 7 course prix fixe menu.

This was a very ordinary meal. We were hungry for some vegetable dishes which reviews had mentioned. These were all of the stewed & sauced variety and though they had some good flavors the consistency of the food was mostly gloppy and laden with butter...and gravy. The pork dish was pretty good but served raw which though shocking to US sensibilities, tasted quite good. The hake was nearly inedible- it tasted like it had been frozen 2 months As for service, the young man who served us was very kind and very helpful - but a young woman who was his assistant was forgetful and seemed thoroughly bored with life. Prices are totally inflated too. Much too $$$$! Would not recommend. Am certain there are much better restos in Zaragoza.More
Really lovely place in the old town of Zaragoza. We are some contemporary tapas that was literally perfect. Some great wines. And wonderful service.
This was a beautiful restaurant that offered a different array of daily Tapas which were unusual and tasty. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Excellent wine on offer. We felt that some of the Tapas were perhaps too rich. There was not much on offer for...Vegetarians but this is typical of Zaragoza. However, we did appreciate the calmness of the Restaurant after the madness of the Tubo area in which it is located. Good value for money.More
I had an excellent meal at this long established & highly acclaimed little restaurant, situated on one of the charming narrow lanes of El Tubo. It features in all the dining guides for Zaragoza & for good reason, it was certainly one of my favourite...meals during a fortnight long trip to the city. Whilst unassuming from the outside, it’s character & history is immediately evident, one of the oldest restaurants in Spain. The small ground floor space is fairly casual but a beautiful wrought iron staircase leads to a more elegant & formal dining room above. The menu consists of an extensive array of gastro-tapas or a set 6 or 7 course menu of small plates, with vegetables taking centre stage. I opted for the latter & every course was delicious. Dishes are light & creative, mini works of art. Wines were also excellent, & service just right. I forget the price of the tasting menu, but recall that I felt it to be great value given the quality of food & the overall experience.More
Although they had a full menu (meat, fish, tapas, etc incl à la carte) we chose the 6 course vegetables menu plus dessert. Very creative and tasteful. In the old lively El Tube quarter. Recommended
Superb tapas on the street watching the world go by. Delicious esp the stuffed tomato with the boqueron
Spaniards don´t believe in early dinner. When we arrived, at 8:20, the place was empty, so we asked for a table. They said they had a last one and invited us to have a drink at the bar, since the restaurant opened at 8:30. At...9:00 we were still the only table and thought they were bluffing. At 9:30 it was fully packed. We had chared stalks with Iberico ham, raviolis with shrimps and leak, piglet and a pork cut that´s called Pluma Iberico (we learned that after taking off the ham, the rest of the acorn fed Iberico pork is called Pluma). Our delicious dessert was roasted figs stuffed with cheese mousse. The restaurant has two levels, and we think the upper level is more cozy.More
The restaurant specializes in vegetables which in principal is OK with us but in practice the tasting menu was repetitive and unimaginative. We chose the business menu for two of us and the menu degustacion for one. The only difference is that the degustation is...only vegetable courses while the business menu had meat/fish options for the main course. The gallina was utterly tasteless and ridiculously overcooked. Don't waste your time or money at this place. Better off going to the closest tapas taberna down the street. The food will be better at a fraction of the price.More
My wife and I went here for lunch in the upstairs restaurant. The tables were set with cloths and it had the air of a somewhat fine dining establishment. We were dressed very casually and I had a backpack but we were made to feel...very welcome. We were provided with an English menu and the waiter was very helpful. We had white asparagus and cannelloni for starters and grilled hake and venison and ham meatballs for main courses. All courses were exceptionally good. We had an excellent bottle of Spanish Chardonnay. We were offered plenty of bread with olive oil, had a large bottle of water and two coffees. The total bill came to less than 90 Euro which we felt was very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the ambience, Highly recommended for a splurge lunch on holidays.More
I passed by the restaurant and made the reservation for the following night for 2 people at 9:30 pm, luckily they had one table left! I had high expectation about it and the experience was good, but not as i expected. Location: city center, walking...distance from plaza de espana and all the nightlife bars and club. Reception: we show ourselves in (upper floor), as the waitress was very busy. We got our table right away. Staff was in a hurry, but friendly. Menu: you can choose between a la carte and prefix menu, they have both good options. I opted for a la carte as I wasn’t very hungry and you need all commensal to opt for the prefix menu. They have a good option of vegetarian (no vegan), fish or meat choices. Our waiter was good and guide us through the menu. Dishes: nice dinner! As per most of dinner o had in Spain, onion and garlic are everywhere! I asked to have the plate without them and they accomodare my request. Service: overall good, a bit slow but maybe I’m used to the NYC rush! Prices: a bit higher that I thought and the quality of the food and service. We spent about 50 euro each (including wine, water, etc), but 35-40 euro was the right target price for the dinner we had. Overall: I’d try when the city is less crowded, maybe during quite time I’d give 5 stars, as the restaurant has potentials.More
I picked this place because of its emphasis on vegetables, and we were desperate for vegetables (and maybe even some vegetarian dishes). But alas even under the “vegetable” heading, dishes contained jamon. We had already snacked elsewhere so it was not a problem, and we...very much enjoyed our soups (pumpkin for me, salmarejo for my partner) and the fried baby leek. I would definitely be willing to bring a bigger appetite to Casa Lac, but wish that there were more vegetable-only dishes.More
Went to this restaurant for the final lunch of a great two week stay in Spain. The Manager made some great recommendations and they were excellent and the wine provided went superbly well, particularly the desert wine which was a special treat. Thanks!
Excellent traditional Spanish food ! We ordered salad, entree, main dishes of lamb and pork , all Aragon recipes . They were all amazing !
We took different tapas, keep in mind that this are not plates you can share. I recommend caneloni, bimba de bacalao and sardinas.
