Tagliatelle, bolognese, risotto, ragu, and all the other typical Bolognese fares were on the menu. Service was prompt and welcoming. Good presentation. Short on flavor. Very limited bar. Average wine list. Nothing to write home about.

Trattoria Nonna Gigia was our favorite restaurant during our visit to Bologna and we ate dinner there several times. The food was great as was the service, and they have a wonderful wine list too!
Upon arrival the restaurant was quite full, the waitress kindly spoke to the manager and luckily we got a table straight away. The menu was accessible via QR code and the waitress checked this was okay. Really handy as English translation available for us and...photos of each dish. We had the sage tortellini and mushroom risotto. We shared the two dishes and both were great! We highly recommend the mushroom risotto! We also enjoyed a half bottle of wine and a tiramisù. Good prices and wonderful service. Don’t miss it if you’re in Bologna.More
Good quality and range of local dishes. Reasonable prices. Good service. Friendly staff. Had dinner there and very pleased so went back the next night. It was even better the second time. Quite popular so reservation is suggested.
What an excellent meal! Really adorable little place off the main street with really friendly staff. Pastas all fresh - best tagliatelle with ragu we had. Highly recommended green lasagna, but the star for me was the Raviolini Bologna filled with Mortadella mousse with Pistachios....One of the best meals we had in Bologna. Glad we had reservations - we were there at the dinner open, and quickly filled to capacitary even that early.More
Very good restaurant. The service was very friendly and helpful . Good menu, good food. Highly recommended.
Food/price is honest also if, To be honest, my passatelli were too much coocked. But the problem is that I asked for gramignana… Moreover, and probably even worst, we have walted for 30’ for ours first courses (after the starters) and another 10’ for 2...coffes. In time-trouble for the train we asked for the bill but another 5’ have passed, meanwhile the waiter was cleaning some free tables instead pd take care of us.More
The menu features all the best dishes of the area. They source locally, which is also a good thing. The food is good, but not outstanding. My tagliatelle bolognese were severely undercooked - I am all for “al dente”, but you still got to dip...the noodles in boiling water…. The meat was good, a touch on the tough side. Best part of the meal was the dessert, a wonderful panna cotta. Prices are average too, considering that you are right in the heart of the city. I wouldn’t go back though, not because it wasn’t good, but rather because nothing was unique, or truly outstanding.More
overcooked and cold served lasagne.Charge and didn t serve bread.Unfriendly..not customer oriented.Tourist trap
Charming place with amazing food and great service. Small and very authentic surroundings. We had the tagliatelle bolognese and risotto - both were homemade and delicious. Server was very helpful with helping us choose a good wine. Will definitely come back next time we are...in Bologna.More
A lovely restaurant with excellent food and service, very accommodating. We booked for Tuesday as couldn't get in the day before (lesson learned). The staff were very helpful and the food was great. The risotto with pear, walnut and cheese was amazing - the best...meal of the week. Definitely recommendMore
What a lovely surprise this place was. On the backstreets of Bologna near the cathedral. The service was second to none and the food was unforgettable.
We noticed this restaurant close to our hotel and were lucky to be given a table as it is very busy. We enjoyed our meal so much we booked for the next night.
We visited this trattoria based on the good reviews found here. Did we have a good dinner here? Well, yes. Did it reach or go beyond our expectation? No. The interior is stylish, our waiter was kind and helpful, my food was delicious (buffala mozzarella,...tortellini, tiramisu). But my wife's steak was not good. She ordered medium, and it looked superb from the outside (see the photo) but it was totally raw in the inside. When we complained, the chef baked it a bit more, so I should not complain too much. However, the wifi was also not working, that is why, I can give only 4 stars.More
