The service was fine however the tables were a bit dirty. More attention from the staff. For the dishes I must say that for the standards they were very low compared to other places in the submarine but on the whole acceptable. For the drink...I have to say a poor choice of beers à la carte and as many on tap. The staff a little too affected and sloppy, how to say the good here.More

It’s really the worst food we’ve ever had in Italy. We travel really a lot in Italy, live part of the year in Italy, besides my husband is Italian and it was such a bad experience for both of us! We ordered salad with shrimps...and tuna fish, spaghetti allo scoglio (with sea food) and fritto misto (fried sea food) with fish of the day. Spaghetti was sooo bad!!! It was warmed up in the oven and the squid was not cleaned properly. The owner or the manager tried to explain that in Italy they eat pasta al dente (a bit hard), but it was not about al dente, it was that pasta was really awful! If somebody is not familiar with Italian food, such explanation might give very bad impression about Italian kitchen and especially pasta. In Italy, even pasta with pure olive oil might be super delicious! The salad was a mix of from the cans. Just salad with tuna fish, corn and shrimps from the cans on the top. We were sitting in front of the sea and eating salad that one can buy at Lidl! After that, we wanted to refuse from fritto misto, had a big discussion with the owner who explained that it is not possible, because it’s already prepared. Finally, we agreed to take fritto misto and the owner (manager) agreed not to calculate spaghetti in the bill. We just didn’t want to have more discussions and totally spoil our evening. Although, in a decent restaurant or bistro there would be no discussion. We could refuse from fritto misto, as the restaurant takes a full responsibility for the quality of the food. Fritto misto was not that bad, but some pieces were wet and there was no fish on the plate. Not a tiny piece of fish we found, although we took it mostly for the fish of the day. For everything we paid 40 eur. and it is was way too much for such bad quality of food. We could never expect that we might have such bad food sitting just in front of the sea and in the city which is famous for the fish market! And of course, we couldn’t expect that awful pasta in Italy! Avoid this place and stay away from it!!!More

After trying five other places along the beachwalk we found this gem, nice staff and the food is actually really good. Try the Pasticiatti, different styles of pasta baked in the oven! And the prices are really good!

We ate our worst meal ever in Italy and we have been travelling a lot in Italy during many years. Our cold plate as a starter was really bad and the pasta dishes was distasteful. We left most of the food . The restaurant is...also really messy with staff just running all over the place.More

The only thing they are good at is their fresh pasta. The beef steak "al pepe verde" (a world wide well known recipe) was covered with a heavy, greasy sauce containing various cheese substances. Moreover, the personnel appears not to know even the most modest...rules of how to welcome a guest, prepare the table (mettere il coperto), present the list of the menus. Despite our rather well-developed skills in Italian, they insisted to talk in their lousy mix of German and English. A NO-GO!More

Food ok but sometimes a hit and miss, great ice creams and child friendly on the front of Sottomarina. Pleasent staff but sometimes slow service.

Don't get it twisted, u're such a lovely and good boy and now that you're leaving too my only regret is that we didn't spend enough time together! But the few moments we had, the ones u ain't even gonna remember , i'll keep em in my mind cuz you made my days glow and I won't forget any single kind word you said to me when no one did! I'm gonna miss your sunny smile and your funny behavior :) So blessed i met you ! i really wish u all the bestMore

Every year, we visit Sottomarina to see my partners family and Bistro is the first stop always. The staff are always friendly, helpful and with a smile. The owner, Federico is always attentive and is visibly hardworking, with his customer's happiness is main priority always....Eating al fresco can be difficult in Sottomarina with the mosquitos but they have several effective devices to keep them away, which makes dining outside a joy rather than a pain. Now, moving on to the food....lots of choice, the menu is in several languages and using fresh tasty ingredients which is evident in the taste. Every time we come, the waiters look bemused as I order the same thing for the duration of our stay. Filet steak with green peppercorn sauce. For one reason and one rain only......it's quite simply the best steak I have ever eaten in my life so why deny myself of this beautiful dish? This restaurant is a credit to Sottomarina and this is evident by the happy staff and even happier customers.More

While staying in chioggia on business, we found that it was difficult everywhere to get an English menu and even most that had one made little sense. This restaurant had a menu that was easy to understand and the best part was how friendly and...accommodating the staff was toward us. We went twice and had a pleasant experience both nights, save some room for dessert they have an excellent selection!More
