We stayed overnight in the cute rooms attached to the pub. We weren't expecting much as it was so reasonable but we were delighted with it for one night stay. Very tucked away and the sat nav takes you down a very narrow lane but...once we found it we were happy to stay there in the cosy pub lounge with nice fires and comfy seats. Good range of premium spirits and beers. The food was fantastic and really good value. Even the wine was reasonably priced and nice quality. Very talented chefs produced lovely confit of duck which was better than any I've eaten in France. Friendly owners and the lovely mum in law cooked us a beautiful English breakfast which set us up for the day. We'd definitely look this place up if we're in the area again. Highly recommend it!More
Saturday lunch time- busy with one staff member serving felt very sorry for her. The restaurant/bar was very cold they had two fires lit but it just didn’t warm up- everyone was sat with coats on. Haven’t been here in about a year and I...must say the food was very sad indeed. Steak had no seasoning at all- bland and colourless. Battered fish pale and greasy and the chips were dark and soggy. The pork was good and very tasty but the portion size was far too small.More
Food great, bar staff really friendly and you receive a warm welcome. Would come here again if in area had a great time highly recommended.
Great food and the waitresses were very helpful . We loved the table service right from the start . Food was extremely good
Went to this pub for my birthday we had a nice meal but was disappointed with the portion size. It seems every time we go the portions get smaller. We also went back last November for my husband birthday and started to notice the portion...size then. To be honest we found though the pub was lovely and welcoming and the manager Kim was lovely. The food was not good value for money so would have to consider whether we would go back to eat. I am not a sink flint but I don't expect to have a 3 course meal and still walk out feeling hungry. So I think this is something that the chef and owners should take on board if they want people to come back for a meal. There was 4 of us tonight and we all felt the same.More
Lovely atmosphere and great food. Service was acceptable but the manager was stressing that it was slow and gave us free drinks. We turned up with a bit of confusion with the booking but it was sorted and we were seated. Food was lovely and...everything was fresh. Price was very reasonable would highly recommend this lovely hidden gem. We will be back again soon .More
A scenic drive in the sunshine to this lovely Inn at St Dominic. The young lady serving us was very welcoming as were the log fires on a cold day. My husband and I both enjoyed the chicken supreme which was hot, tasty and well...presented and the sticky toffee pudding / chocolate tart was very nice too. We were very pleased that there is a 20% discount on food during January. Altogether a very nice meal and we will be visiting again.More
Our oven had given up on us so we booked supper at this lovely pub. Last time we went (2022) we were a little disappointed but definitely not tonight. The girl behind the bar was the only one serving and did a splendid job in...the warm bar. The food was excellent ...a chicken supreme and a pork crackling dish followed by equally delightful sticky toffee pudding and brandy butter bread pudding. Having an extra 20% off the food during January was a real bonus.More
Great girl behind the bar and we sat behind the locals who were fun for an hour Completely ruined by. Private event by car people who locked us out of the only working bathrooms in the pub. Why are they allowed to block out bathrooms...when other are being refurbished. Won’t return because of this.More
A rather overpriced Christmas Dinner experience was spoiled by the very long waits between courses, the lack of professional staff, over spiced soup and lack of turkey at the expense of burnt, overlarge yorkshire puddings, burnt carrots and potatoes. The cheese boards were well presented...with a mediocre choice of cheeses including a sweating, outside corner wedge of indescribable cheese. The staff were smiling and generally cheerful and polite. The crackers were good and the tap water was served in a cold bottle which was nice. It was not a merry Christmas dinner.More
Booked for lunch in mid December and on arrival it looked quiet but after awhile the bar area filled nicely with diners giving a relaxed vibe. The menu has enough choices without being overwhelming and there is sure to be something to suit most tastes,...my wife went for a monkfish scampi starter and I had soup of the day, the monkfish was very tasty and was coated in batter, a little to much for my wife despite being a light tempura batter, my soup was roasted tomato soup and tasted homemade and was accompanied by very tasty olive bread. For mains my wife had fish and chips with garden peas instead of mushy, the chips were good thick cut ones and the fish was tasty, fresh and a good batter. I had Thai curry, you can choose between chicken, vegetable or the one I chose which was monkfish, the dish had an impressive presentation with the curry arriving with an onion bhaji, nan bread, poppadom, dhal, mango chutney, khachumber salad and rice, all arrived on a circular tray with each item in its own small circular pot, it looked great and tasted even better, the curry was sweet and spicy and all the accompaniments were very tasty, I certainly recommend this dish. The meal was unhurried and with a real fire burning the bar area, was welcoming and festive. A very nice pre Christmas lunch in a pub/restaurant very local to me.More
Attended the wreath making workshop and also had lunch. We had a lovely day and food was amazing! Kim was an incredible host.
Had a great Xmas meal with colleagues. The staff were all very attentive, especially Jess who did her utmost to make sure everyone was happy. Will book again for next year
We had our friend down so we went to the who'd thought it pub in St Dominic. We had a absolutely lovely meal all the staff were very welcoming.
