We had a wonderful dinner here, very traditional Czech restaurant with traditional decor, tables and food. I have been here before, maybe 15 years ago and it was the same. I couldn't fault it or the lovely food. The staff so helpful and accommodating. I...was wearing a fur jacket which had no hanging loop and the woman who received us went upstairs and found a hanger to put it on. Super charming. The food was delicious and the Czech wines well chosen with the help of the sommelier. Everything was well priced too.More

We had a very good meal with Czech specialities. Service was friendly and very helpful, particularly with the wine list, as I had no knowledge of Czech wines. Beautiful old building, great atmosphere with live piano music. Good food, good wine, great service, pleasant atmosphere:...you couldn't ask for more. Highly recommendedMore

I’ve visited this charming and cozy restaurant for the 2nd time after some 8 years and although it still is one of the more classy and high quality establishments in the area of Mala Strana in Prague, there’s been some inconsistency in the preparation of...the meals and certain things could definitely be improved. My roast duck served with apples, raisins, potato purée and honey was done well - the meat was tender and soft and was well balanced with the taste of accompanying ingredients mentioned above and some herbs. However my mother whom I’ve dined with, had opted for the grilled duck breast, which unfortunately was rather disappointing - the meat was chewy and hard and she really struggled with eating it. We both tried the cream of venison soup that had a good taste, but the temperature of it was definitely too moderate. The restaurant has a good selection of great quality wines and the service was professional and friendly. There’s a lot of potential in this already well recognised restaurant, that gets a lot of highly positive reviews, but our experience was unfortunately effected in a somewhat negative way by the contradiction in the quality of 2 different dishes. Still I would give them another chance and visit again in the future.More

I was expecting a lot more based on the reviews. You have to really like this kind of food. The roasted duck was delicious but the potato dumplings and the chestnut stuffing was dry. The fois grois was nothing special (I live in France.) The...bread service, which is important in Europe, was just ok. Delicious dark bread and the white bread was quite tasteless. My husband got the beet carpaccio and the roasted chuck. Very rich main course but the carpaccio wasn’t anything sublime. Service was excellent and the decor very “different.” I wouldn’t go back.More

Tried this restaurant this trip as we have frequented their sister restaurant in the Old Town before. The atmosphere was charming and quiet. The food was outstanding. It is a must stop if you are into duck dishes ( most of their menu. Recommend reservations...as their seating is limited.More

Our dinner at “The Blue Duck” was truly a special experience on our last night in Prague. Definitely the best meal we had during our visit and probably the best dining experience we’ve had in long time, a real treat. It’s a traditional kind of...restaurant with a quaint charm. Atmosphere is important to us so we were thrilled to find this place tucked away from the busy town square. We had the tasting menu along with the paired wines and every presentation was beautiful and delicious. The service was excellent. We had read in advance about the piano music and weren’t sure what to expect, but the pianist was excellent and we enjoyed watching as he played with such passion (I know more about food and wine than music, but the pianist was an lovely addition to the ambiance.) A perfect experience from beginning to end!More

Visited on 12/2/2023, even with heavy snowfall, the restaurant drew a sizable local crowd. Opted for the tasting menu, and the duck dishes were truly delightful. The grilled duck foie gras took center stage, offering an exceptionally pleasing taste. While the venison pâté didn't quite...stand out for me, and the deer saddle was slightly salty, its overall flavor and texture were commendable. The chocolate cake is noteworthy, especially since it doesn't need to be paired with tea or coffee – it's not overly sweet, allowing the true chocolate flavor to shine through. The bill, covering the tasting menu, a Coke, and a 10% tip, totaled 1480kc. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the food and service, although I'm considering ordering the whole roast duck on my next visit.More
