Really great food. Unique twist on old favourites. Great staff, perfect setting, lovely calm atmosphere. Even though we were a large group, it felt like we had plenty of attention from the staff. Food was served with just the right intervals between courses. Dessert was...amazing; ice cream with paprika - the best ever - and sticky date pudding. The main course of was the best duck I have ever tasted. Truly the highlight of the trip.More

After researching restaurants, the Empress stood out with reviews and an interesting menu. My experience was the best I had in Singapore with a relaxing setting, excellent food, a wonderfully creative cocktail (Imperial garden) and pumpkin soup, chili Hokkaido scallops, and sichuan popcorn chicken -...all were delicious. I made reservations for outside, but was able to sit inside which was much more comfortable. The service was attentive, yet unhurried and the evening was a pleasure.More

Back for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We had all the big hits from our wedding dinner - Pandan Creme Brulee, King Prawn Dumpling and it brought us all back. Hats off to Eunice who made our day special by flooding us with extra food on...the house - Dim sum, starters and an anniversary plated dessert. She's the best!More

Thank you to the team of servers in the front line first of all. The Royal Peking Duck was exceptional, similar to the various appetisers we chose, such as, the Crispy Silver Bait Fish, Deep-fried Salmon Skin m, Tofu & Salted Egg Yolk, the two...Dim Sum Platters (good way to try the different Dim Sum dishes); the Popcorn Chicken Spicy Sichuan Style. Of course we also had dessert, I love the Peanut-Coated Black Sesame “Mochi” Balls, the Bubur Char-Char, disappointed with the Sticky Rice Paradise (the coconut milk spoilt the dish).More

Nice atmosphere. We sat inside but the doors to outside were open with a lovely view. Service was subtle but not effusive. Triple roast platter highly recommended.

Came here for a team birthday lunch and we had a wonderful experience. We would like to specially commend Yan who was really attentive to our needs. She even realised we did not get a cake for the birthday celebration and got us a complimentary...cake with a candle for the birthday celebration. Food is also amazing. We had the executive set lunch with 3 courses and everything was on point, from the taste to the presentation of the food. Ambience was also great!More

We had a good dim sum buffet lunch. The 3 of us ordered different dishes to share and sometimes, just 1 piece of each. It would be more work for the chef but the team happily obliged. There's some plus and some not so greata,...but generaly, most of the dishes were quite tasty.More

We were here for food-tasting, nephew’s wedding in a month’s time! It was a Thursday evening 7pm and the place was full-ed indoor. Conspicuous among the neighbouring ACM the restaurant offers both dining options, indoor or alfresco by the waterfront as the Singapore River just...flowing alongside! Inside it was contemporary décor with full-glass on one side (nearer the promenade) and a well invested marble bar counter on the other. The smart casual Chinese restaurant’s unique setting and probably seats 10+ tables . The 10 of us were seated in a longish table, and there was the 10 course meal. On the menu, authentic Cantonese dishes elevated with superior ingredients and comes with impressive contemporary presentation. There were Starter platters, Braised Birds’nest, XO Sauce mushroom, Pawns 2-way (slated-egg & Wasabi), Crispy roast duck, Triple Roast Platter, Sticky Date & Longan Pudding. And there’s 8 Treasure-rice for the carbo-lover and Dessert was “Never too Matchy” too. It was higher-end food and not question about the food taste. Especially love the prawn (I’m a fan of prawn) and char-siew with its delectable crisp skin. The single serving dishes made one feels lesser “sinful” of high protein/fat. Overall the ambience won us over. Lively dining experience and service just about right (for the restaurant reputation). But the pricing is pricey.More

Food was not worth the price at all. Some of the items like the spinach seafood dumpling and the hargow was decent. Most of the single serving dishes was disappointing. The bbq platter was below average the crispy sesame kongpao chicken tasted of frozen chicken....Worst still was the fried items that seems like they used prepared items from the frozen section of the supermarket. The only saving grace was the ambience.More

We had to ask to place a drinks and food order. We ordered the roast peking duck but most of the meat was still on the bone when it was taken back to the kitchen. The pieces we were served were mostly crispy skin with...no meat - we asked for the rest of the meat to be brought out and it took about 30-40 minutes with the plate sitting outside on a side table for 5 minutes before being brought to the table, unsurprisingly it was cold. We then complained and it was heated up but then very chewy. We expressed our disappointment of the experience but no one really owned the problem or apologised, merely blaming the outdoor fan for causing the food to be cold. The Kung Po prawns were fantastic, but that was the highlight. We were surprised to see that the bill was charged as full with service added and no apology when we were clearly frustrated which was even more disappointing.More

Very disappointing. The venue is very nice but unfortunately the rest was extremely poor. We were a group of 12 in total and we had pre-ordered food before we went from a set menu so really there should be no excuses. It took over 2.5...hours to serve the food- which was OK when it finally arrived, but by the time the final course arrived very few people were hungry. The service was also appalling- with a beer taking 20 mins to arrive and the same for other drinks. At one point i actually went to the bar myself to order a second bottle of wine which I waited 20 minutes for- before then having to go and re-order it. The place is just badly organized as concept and needs looking at. There are way better options for both an experience and the associated cost. Will not be recommending or returning.More

We had dim sum lunch but didn’t know the dim sum buffet is only available on the weekends. Their lunch selection is good and worth trying 😃

The food was delicious , the service was terrible , I had a guest from out of town and asked to sit at the window - the restaurant was empty but had 1 other table other than us - they bummed and erred and finally...let us sit there - they wouldn't give us 4 pieces of any dish they constantly mentioned $2 for another cup of tea $ 3 for another plate of achar like we were in a school canteen - it was embarrassing and awful - having looked forward to it I would definitely think twice before bringing anyone there againMore
