As a Belgian, I am often disappointed by chocolate desserts in Peru as they are too sweet and often not real chocolate. O Cacao is real Belgian, wonderful hot chocolate, great chocolate desserts and delicious pralines and truffels. I always treat myself on the first...day of my stay in Arequipa. I can't wait to return as I miss the great taste!More
This place is my favorite... I not so fan for chocolate but in this case yes..the Spanish hot chocolate so good not sweet, robust flavor 100% cacao and the mousse cake is delicious and the little pisco sour bombom is good.... We recommend this place...is worth it. ThanksMore
Genuine Peruvian coffee served with a smile from this Belgium owner. All the reviews contributions are true. Must stop here for good coffee chocolate experience when you visit Arequipa Highly recommended
The place is small and cute, just some metres away from the main square in Arequipa. It offers some desserts (personally tried a chocolate cake that was fresh and delicious, added some vanilla ice cream to reach the maximum of pleasure -and calories😁) and a...long list of beversges, coffees, chocolates, mixtures of those and many more. They also make waffles. I d like to taste that one too but had too much sugar already. Well what really really amazed me was the hot cacao chocolate drink I had. 100% cacao. It was Paradise in your mouth! Best chocolate beverage I had in my life (coming from Europe and also in love with chocolates, I have tried so many, trust me). The chocolate was so dense.. you could feel the pure cacao in your tongue. Highly recommended! Don't go without trying this! This is marked with a 'tripadvisors choice' sign in the menu. Also the person working there was kind and helpful. Speaks English as well. Valuable 😁😁More
One of the best chocolate cakes ever, acccompnied by delicious (100% cacao) hot chocolate - don’t add sugar if you want the full delicious taste! Couldn’t help getting a small selection of the fantastic home made chocolates on the way out - Pisco sour flavour...was great, as well as crushed coca leaves.More
Great little cafe that sells a selection of cakes and chocolates. We had the chocolate fondant cake which was like a dense, chewy brownie and then a heavenly light and moist chocolate mousse cake. I couldn't pick a favourite they were both amazing. First place...I've found good cake/brownie since being in South America and they're nice and cheap. They also do a great hot chocolate.More
My group went here a few times. The chocolate truffles were lovely, as were the different beverages I had over the course of two weeks. The hot chocolate, the coffee...you can't go wrong.
oCacao was one of my go-to places in Arequipa. The hot chocolate (particularly 'con especias') and the other chocolate goodies are delicious but the torta mousse is absolutely stunning! The velvety chocolate cake melted in my mouth. Arequipa is known for its Peruvian cuisine but...whenever I think of Arequipa and food, the oCacao torta mousse comes first. For 6 soles it represents amazing value. Sometimes I ate two pieces. I dream about the torta mousse!More
Ordered a cafe mocha and got served the drink of the gods. I have NEVER tasted a drink that good. Ate the fondant and it was just the same. Best fondant ever. And all of it for a very reasonable price, too! Highly recommend.
Nice experience for the ones that love chocolate just like me. Great place to read some books or magazine and enjoy of drinks and the yummy brownie. Last time I went, the little boy approach to me to ask me where was one of my...eyes because my hair was hiding it. So funny!More
The desserts are delicious. I talked to the owners and they are really friendly. The ambiance is sweet, this is a small shop.
Got the hot chocolate 100% de cacao drink, made of pure cacao paste from the bean, which was absolutely fantastic. The owner, who is Belgian, was very helpful with explaining the drinks and chocolate of Peru as well. His wife runs their other shop a...few blocks away which has a very tasty breakfast also. I'd certainly come back here.More
We ordered the chocolate negro, I was afraid it was going to be bitter, I was so wrong! It's delicious! Unfortunately we came after a big lunch so we really don't want any dessert. We will certainly come back after dinner and try one or...two, they look wonderful.More
We popped in here for dessert after dinner. Picked up some truffles and they were absolutely delicious. Cute shop.
