We visited as a group of friends and wasn’t sure what to expect as had read mixed reviews. We shouldn’t have worried, the food was well presented as well as being delicious. We did the set menu, the men had 6 courses and the women...had 5 and we all left satisfied. The service was impeccable and each course was tasty and cooked to perfection. One member of the group was vegan and they said they really enjoyed the food too. Overall the bill was very reasonable, including a great wine selection, and it felt like a really special experience. Recommend to anyone in Bucharest.More

Best restaurant in Bucharest! It definitely deserves a Michelin star. The food is amazing, the presentation of the food, the staff are well trained, everything is perfect. We usually go there about twice per year. I really recommend the cucumber sorbet for desert :)

It was ok but not worth the price, was expecting more for a fine dine restaurant. Had 4 dishes from the menu/each. Was there in the past and I was impressed, also receiving compliments from the chef in between the meals. This time, the menu...was rather basic for the price, small portions (as expected) and not even a bite on the house. For the amount spend (almost 200 usd with a wine included), will choose smth else next time.More

We had dinner at this restaurant after a long period and it was all good. An excellent quality food, a good service and very good atmosphere. A real high class gastro restaurant - very few dishes but all good/excellent. A very big plus - they...do not allow any type of smoking, clssic, vipes, etc. This is highly appreciated as having a good quality dinner while others smokes just beside you (it is simply not acceptable).More

Incredible. We had the most splendid time at The Artist. A warm welcome, well explained and great service. The food was exceptional with the very, very good wine selection. A great experience if you haven’t done wine tasting before. The truffle at the end was...mind altering….in a good way.More

The Artist is an exceptional restaurant. Although on a famous and storied avenue not far north-north west from the center of the "old city", it is not easily discovered, as its modest entrance doorway is up two steps from a small side walkway about 15...m back from Calea Victoriei about 50 m NNW of the Starbucks (at the little corner where the Ubers like to stop out off the traffic). It is small, which is good, taking advantage of one of Bucharest's grand residences from the "old days", refurbished in exquiste taste. Presentation of the individual courses is outstanding, inventive, appealing, and--most important--flavorful.More

My husband and I have visited the restaurant on several occasions. Many years ago they offered a spoon tasting menu. This was interesting a few times, but lost its newness and fun after a couple experiences. After the pandemic we hadn’t visited for awhile ....We decided to go for a friends birthday. This was a nice menu, presented in the new fashion of pick how many course you’d like style. I thought this concept was cool, but when it comes to groups everyone at the table should have the same number of courses to ease the flow of the dining experience. Now this visit tonight my husband and I decided to give it another try. We arrived, weren’t greeted particularly well, but we were seated and presented with the menu. We choose our six courses and off we went. The first “on the house” bread and butter and goat cheese dish was similar to that which we’ve had I the past. Then we moved to the celery and beet course. This was tasty but the Romanian cheese was a bit frozen inside. Next was the duck confit. This was our favorite course. It was flavorful and balanced. Then came the potato and parsnip au gratin. This had minimal flavor. Some of the things on the plate didn’t quite seem like they belonged. Next there was the beef ravioli. This was super disappointing. It’s pretty hard to not deliver for me when it comes to pasta… no flavor. Sauce was lacking in body. Everything fell flat. The final food course was the bbq chicken… this was disappointing too. I was thankful for the sauce, but it was again one note and lacked depth. The best thing in the course was the croquet. We botrh went for the raspberry and chocolate Grenache dessert. It was ok at best. No attempt to wow us or provide something other then pipped out dollops of chocolate with some brownie pieces on top. Overall, I can hardly call the experience fine dining. I’ve been eating in this city for over 10 years now and it feels like this place is using its old reputation to serve a not so “fine dining” experience. It feels like all of their courses and food are picked to be premade in the back house and there is very little innovative execution happening. It’s really pretty sad. I’d hoped to be impressed or even slightly pleased, as I would have enjoyed having another culinary spot to enjoy and recommend.More

What a fabulous experience we had at The Artist. The decor is absolutely lovely and serene, the food is divine and the service is polished. We chose the 6 course tasting menu (you can choose anywhere from 2-6 courses). Since we did choose the six,...we covered nearly the whole menu between the two of us. Every course was a work of art. From the complimentary amuse bouche down to the last “truffle” truffle, it is amazing. Sea bass, lamb ravioli, a Romanian cheese selection, cucumber sorbet, chocolate ganache - all wonderful. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in Bucharest. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.More

This restaurant is a must if you visit Bucharest. The interior is lovely but we sat outside for dinner in a gorgeous courtyard herb garden. The food is amazing and it is indeed art on a plate. The service was great snd the waiter was...very knowledgable about the wines. We had bread and 2 types of butter along with goats cheese profiteroles as a complementary starter before the food we had ordered. The portions for a tasting menu were very good. Overall a wonderful experience and excellent value for moneyMore
