Very reasonably price, only 600 just for the Udon. Visited by locals and tourists alike. Delicious sanuki udon, although not much more delicious than other sanuki udon shops that I tried. The ambiance is nice, and the line move fast.

We visited the shop before noon and hope the queue was shot but it was still over 20+ waiting table ahead of us. The good thing is the restaurant is pretty large and the queue moved fast. The waiting area is nice and with seats....They offer a seasonal menu beside the standard menu. English and photos are available on the menu which is really helpful. The udon is very delicious. One of the best in udon in the city. Worth driving half an hour from downtown Takamatsu. They have a few free parking areas near the restaurant.More

People travel far and wide for sanuki udon and this place is certainly worth the trip. Buses of people arrive here so make sure to arrive early or later on in the day to beat the crowd. Excellent udon, if not a little pricier than...most spots in Takamatsu, it’s still worth itMore

I have to say this is the best Udon restaurant around. We have been coming here for 10 years and it continues to be great. Their green tea latte as seen in the photo is quite delicious. Everything on the menu is delicious. You can’t...go wrong with anything. They do have English menus they have me today. I never saw them before but it can be helpful to decide what to eat.More

Excellent udon restaurant in an amazing building and area. I warmly advise it. However, as it happens to also be one of the most famous udon restaurants in Takamatsu, except long waiting lines most days.

We went for lunch late afternoon. When we drove down, it seemed to be uphill in a residential area. Upon arrival, many signs showing our way that strengthened the GPS indication. There were three parking lots with plenty parking spaces. We were greeted and led...to a nice dinning room. We ordered our udon plus tempura and really tasteful. The costs for this lunch was really good prize. We enjoyed a lovely lunch time in such an awesome place. We took many pictures and would recommend to our friends.More

Yamadaya opened a branch at Tokyo Sky Tree town. This place is an original I have been longed to visit. Yes, it worth driving half an hour from downtown Takamatsu. The best Udon I have ever had.

Udon shops are rarely classy. It is a simple noodle but this place has a great garden and the building looks like it could be used in a Ninja movie.

Kagawa Pref. is famous for Sanuki-udon. Usually every Japanese eats Udon but Sanuki-udon is regarded as one of the most delicious udon. When my wife and I visited Kagawa, we went to Yamada-ya in accordance with her request. The restaurant might be world-wide famous because...some international guests came. What we placed an order for were Udon with deep fried shrimps. It was delicious but didn’t surpass my expectation. I think deep fried shrimps were more delicious rather than udon.More

I am originally from Kagawa and I live in the States now. I always go back to this restaurant when I go back to my hometown! The ambience is so nice and enjoy "kakeudon" or "udonsuki" with friends and family. We love sitting on the...tatami mat and enjoy the view of Japanese garden. It is probably not the cheapest udon place that you can find in Kagawa, but if you want to enjoy your time with your friend with good udon, this is the right place!More

The udon is definitely delicious. One of the best in udon in the city. The atmosphere was also great. This shop has a long history when it comes to udon, you'll never go wrong which ever dish you order. The place is a bit inaccessible...if you don't have a car. If given another chance to visit Takamatsu, I would definitely go back.More

I found this garden restaurant at the guide book and since I am driving a car, getting there is not a problem. And you do need a car to get there. I drove for about 20 minutes from Takamatsu city to the restaurant. If you...take a taxi from Takamatsu city, the taxi fare would definitely cost more than your meal. I also saw some tour buses taking many guests to the restaurant. The restaurant was originally a part of the wine brewery. It has both inside dinning and garden dinning area. I arrived at around 1230pm for lunch and chose to eat outside. The menu comes with pictures, so no worry and you are sure what you will have. I had a udon in soup with chicken and egg. It comes with much vegetable. The soup base is perfect and everything taste excellent. Tea is self service and cost no more. My bowl of udon costs Yen 620, great deal. Guests siting next to us have udon with dipping sauce and tempura set. I hearsay they praised the tempura very much. So I and my wife decided to come back the following evening (The restaurant closes at 8pm). We made a reservation at the front desk and to our surprise the lady there speaks fluent English. We came back the following evening at around 6:30. There are only a handful customers in the evening. This time we took a table inside. We had the udon with chicken and egg again, and a dipping udon with tempura set. Yes the tempura is perfect, no doubt about it. The only problem with dinning inside is that smoking is allowed and people do smoke. Kagawa Prefecture is famous for its Sanuki udon so basically every udon restaurant in Kagawa offers excellent handmade udon, you can't go wrong with it.More
