had a great dinner here with wine. many restaurants are still closed in Banos. This was our choice, and a good one.

For one person working and one person cooking and one person serving it was good I would order the fillet mignon and shrimp it had a lot of flavor
Thanks for you comment!!
Small restaurant behind cathedrale. Good meat, very good BBQ Sauce, french fries a litte bit pale, reasonable prices. Good expresso (for Ecuador).
Dear,thanks for your opinnion!!
The food here was very good however the wine was very expensive. It was not priced on the menu but the average price of a glad of wine in Banos is 4 to 5 dollars. They charged 9 dollars. Bit of a shock and fast...learning curve. Check pricing first.More
BEWARE - if you want a drink of wine make sure you double and triple check the price. At $9 for a quarter bottle (mini 1 glass size) this is possibly the most expensive wine in town. They DONT offer a drinks menu so be...warned. The food was ok but nothing special. Lots of local eating which is a good sign but non of then drinking wine or beer - what a surprise! There are much better places to spend your budget so have a 10 minute walk and enjoy a drink with your food.More
I've been here several times and the food is consistently great. The chicken is seriously awesome! The owner is very friendly and helpful. The tamales while sweeter than I generally like but are never the less great. Even the baked potatos are a revelation, I...am so tired of fries so it was a pleasant change. It's crowded for a reason ; great food, good pricesMore
We wandered in here after discovering Alto Caribe was closed on Wednesdays and were not disappointed. Intimate place, full largely of Ecuadorians during Carnival week. What was outstanding was the beef, cooked to perfection for me (medium rare), while my hubby had the BBQ chicken....Sides of salad and fries were basically standard, but if we lived in Banos, I would add it to my list of places to frequent.More
It would be not visit of Banos if we would not eat in this cozy restaurant. Pollo al Carbon is fantastic. You get so much for money you spend. I would only wish that they would be opened for lunch as well.
For 5 weeks, I would pass by Dulce Carbon at least 2-4 times. During the evenings, I noticed the restaurant (especially during the weekends) was full of locals. I ordered the chicken with bbq sauce and was not disappointed. Very very reasonable. If you want...to eat like a local, you have to come here.More
Very busy place on the weekends, so get there early! The roasted chicken is excellent ( and if you sit near the door you can watch them cook and enjoy the heat from the grill... Sorry but Baños is cool most of the time). The...service was prompt and polite, despite my poor Spanish. I have been back several times. Worth the visit. It's behind the Cathedral.More
This is a restaurant highly recommended for its price and service, not to mention the food. The owner himself, take your order, in a very friendly manner!!. Place clean and neat. Certainly a restaurant to come back every time I will visit Banos
I went here because it was the closest place to where I was staying and just wanted something proper but quick. The gentleman was great and service prompt and friendly. It's away from the main tourist hub so a little bit quieter (I like). I...had a quarter chicken which was tender and delicious with a side of salad. It also comes with papa frites (I don't like potato so ordered it without). I also had a delicious fruit juice. The restaurant is neat and organised, you can watch the chicken being cooked on a grill over an open fire. It also comes with a fruity/spicy salsa, which was unusual but tasty. For $7.50 I was happy with everything and would highly recommend it.More
This was recommended by my hostel and it was really a good expirience. Staff speak good english so it was easy too.. Very clean place not to mention the quality food ! very pleasant place well lit.. Very reasonable prices too..
The best restaurant in Banos by far. we always look for local restaurants as opposed to tourist ones. By the time we finished dinner the place was full of local residence as to reassure us we are in the right place. banos is full of...fast food and tourist bars but if you are into real foud this is definitely the place to eat. Umberto the owner is such a nice guy wish we had more days in Banos.....More
Decided to try this place after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. A little out of the busier center of town. Menu only in Spanish which made it collect extra points from our point of view. Had nice, honest food, it a typical ambiance. Two mains,...four glasses of wine. 32,50. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for something a little authentic.More
