Writing a review about this animal park is not easy.
On one hand, the park give the opportunity for the kids to see animals quite close by and admire them. There is a quite decent variety of alpine animals (some, I'd say they are just conventional though, like the hedgehog or the squirrel) and it is very exciting for the kids to take this walk in the mountain and see who are they going to spot.
On the other hand, this is a zoo where each cage is quite limiting. Especially in the case of the birds.
The space available is large and considering the price of the ticket and the amount of merchandise that they probably sell there should be better conditions for all the animals.
Good little walk on the hill side looking at beautiful animals. I am not a big fan of caged bird but... kids loved to see the owls and that is probably the only way they would get to see these beautiful creatures.
Had a good time.
The visit of this park with mountain animals is a nice idea how to spend few hours or during not pleasant (rainy) day or when you want just rest yourself or to have a nice trip with children. The park is situated on the flank of small hill, easily reacheble by car. There are several parking places in the nearby of the park. In the park there is picnic zone and playground for children, but no refreshment stand. The zones for animals are not very big so you can see all animals very easily. Some of the animals are even free. For all animals are provided signboards with interested information. We spent there two hours and we enjoyed this park, With the ticket you receive also the discounts for other activities, among others a discount for Skyway Monte Bianco, some castles and rafting adventures.
I am a massive animal fan so this was a must for me. It is quaint and cute, with good sized and well maintained pens and also on the side of a hill, so you get good exercise! We did totally miss the main car park, but luckily there is another one up the hill.
It is not disabled friendly however.
This place was wonderful and truly enjoyed it. We saw animals well taken care of and their spaces seem for the most part sufficient. This is the only preservation park in the Aosta Valley and it is a must see when in the area especially with kids.
The staff was wonderful and even though we don't speak Italian they were so helpful. The town itself is lovely and there are so many castles in the area it was magical.
I'm not particularly fond of caged animal venues but at least some of them have some open space to roam. Take the kids to see a stambecco walk past you on the same trail. I felt sorry for the wild boars in their enclosure because they run wild just outside the parc enclosure. There are owls, goats and so on.
