After spending a couple of hours exploring Little Rock we wanted a bite to eat before heading back to Hot Springs where we were staying. Problem was that it was already almost 9pm on a Monday night and most places were about to close as usually happens in smaller cities in this region so our options were limited. As luck had it we happened to come across Wasabi Bar and Grill and realizing they would still be open for another 30 minutes we gave them a try.
We ordered a sushi/sashimi combo, some gyoza(Japanese style dumplings) and a fried rice. Our sushi and sashimi tasted fresh and a soup and salad were included with the combo. Gyoza were delicious and I enjoyed their fried rice as well. Our server whose name was Landon provided us with friendly service and at no time did we feel rushed eventhough it was almost closing time.
This spot is located in the lively River Market area and they have several TV screens showing sports giving the restaurant a bit of a sports bar kind of vibe.
Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area looking for sushi and other Japanese dishes.
This was a great place for sushi. I normally eat Sashimi. The sashimi was definitely fresh with above-average proportions.
Sushi was good, but service was lacking....they were busy, but we literally had to ask for part of our order twice. It was nothing special, unfortunately, because it’s on the main strip downtown.
Had the lunch special, soup or salad (salad excellent) and two different rolls, 16 pieces in all. A lot of food and a good value. However I was not a fan, nor was my dinning companion, much better options in town. Tasted plain and the texture was a little off. Nice space, not crowded at lunch and parking, good luck, it’s downtown at a meter.
